What is Ragging?
Ragging means causing physical and/or mental trauma to a person as a result of physical abuse, manhandling, using abusive language or gestures, or forcing to perform acts that may cause physical/mental damage. Ragging is a social, cultural and psychological menace that has no place in educational institutions.
Zero Ragging Policy
Sreyas Institute has taken comprehensive precautions as per AICTE Norms to prevent ragging and ensure 100% no-ragging environment. Any student found involved in ragging, directly or indirectly, shall not only be expelled from the institution but the matter will be reported to police and legal authorities for further necessary action.
Preventive Measures
Committee Formation
Anti Ragging Committee consisting of senior faculty, headed by the Principal, with representatives from diverse stakeholder groups.
Campus Monitoring
Staff members allotted duties at all campus areas including canteen, parking, playgrounds, and bus bay to ensure continuous vigilance.
Awareness Campaigns
Wide publicity through flexes, posters, and boards across campus premises and surrounding areas.
Orientation Programs
Regular awareness programs conducted through meetings and presentations to senior students about anti-ragging policies.
Affidavit Collection
Affidavits collected from all first-year students at the time of admission committing to no-ragging.
Counselling Services
Counselling services and awareness sessions offered to students on mental well-being and healthy campus culture.
Functions & Responsibilities
- ■Comply with Supreme Court, AICTE, UGC, and University directives against ragging
- ■Maintain vigilance and conduct regular awareness campaigns and posters/notices
- ■Consider and investigate complaints received from students
- ■Formulate procedures for collecting affidavits from first-year students
- ■Conduct awareness programs against ragging menace
- ■Provide contact details of designated persons to receive complaints/distress calls
- ■Offer counselling services and create awareness on the impact of ragging
- ■Take necessary preventive measures inside campus and hostels

Complaint Procedure
Students who witness or experience ragging can file complaints through:
